Eat'n Park Hospitality Group

Eat'n Park Restaurants Eat'n Park began nearly a half century ago as the first Pittsburgh-area drive-in restaurant with carhops. The carhops are gone now, and our look has changed quite a bit since then, but one thing remains the same — our commitment to great food at an exceptional value while providing outstanding service. On June 6, 1949, Eat'n Park began with a revolutionary concept. Led by Larry Hatch, an executive of the Isaly Company of that era, a group of Pittsburghers built a tiny, two-tone yellow, 13-seat restaurant in Pittsburgh's suburban South Hills and, at 2:00 p.m., sent 10 bustling carhops out to serve customers right in their cars. And what a revolution it was. The restaurant was so busy that it caused an enormous traffic jam on Saw Mill Run Boulevard and had to close to regroup a scant six hours after it opened. But the votes were in and the die was cast. Eat'n Park, one of the area's first carhop restaurants, was a smash hit. Four months later, the young company opened a second Pittsburgh restaurant. Within 11 years, the chain had grown to 27 restaurants. What had begun as a phenomenon, would become an institution. Eat'n Park has grown to be the leading full-service restaurant chain in the tri-state area, with over 75 restaurants throughout Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio, and over 8,000 employees. Eat'n Park has succeeded in changing with the times. New trends in customer preferences have prompted shifts in dining style, exterior and interior building designs, menu selections, and employee training programs, all with the primary objective of quality service in mind. The Park Classic Diner It's a whole new kind of restaurant, but with an old-style twist - The Park Classic Diner! Eat'n Park Hospitality Group's newest and most exciting concept since the Smiley? cookie! A retro diner with all the things you'd expect - neon, chrome, cool 50's style tile, and, of course, fantastic diner food! The Park Classic Diner features the kind of food you'd expect at a down-home diner...burgers, shakes, fries, and delicious meatloaf just like Mom used to make! But we've also got Daily Specials and a great new menu that's sure to tempt your tastebuds! Enjoy Miss Suzy's Sensational French Toast, or the Park Mandarin Glazed Chicken. There's super salads, char-grilled steaks, and our famous Park Party Cake to finish the meal off with a smile! Parkhurst Dining Services In 1996, Eat'n Park expanded its scope to include upscale quality dining service for Colleges, Universities, Corporations and specialty markets such as Museums, Catering and Fine Dining. This new division, Parkhurst Dining Services, is on the cutting edge of trends in "retail" cuisine, and offers casual, sophisticated dining settings that gratify a variety of appetites. Our executive chefs and professionally trained service staff please even the most discriminating guests. Cura Hospitality In 1999, CURA Hospitality joined the Eat'n Park family. CURA provides dining, consulting and contract management services to senior living communities. Their clients are residential facilities for independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care, as well as retirement communities. Six Penn Kitchen Six Penn Kitchen was designed to bring a new dining experience to the city of Pittsburgh. The goal was to create a neighborhood American bistro that focuses on relaxed but attentive service, unfussy but expertly prepared food at down to earth prices, and an overall feeling of hospitality that will cultivate a loyal fan base of guests who drop in for lunch or dinner, weekly or monthly. Six Penn Kitchen was conceived by utilizing the talent and knowledge of local restaurateurs, in addition to relying on the resources of some folks behind the success of some of the best and most respected restaurants around the country. Six Penn Kitchen is a neighborhood restaurant with world class aspirations. By paying attention to the basics – true hospitality, great food, casually sophisticated environment – we feel that Six Penn Kitchen will raise the bar on the art of dining casually.
