Our vision is to be recognized as the city's premier young professionals organization offering exceptional networking, social, and community involvement services to our members. We will be satisfied only when all members have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally to achieve overall success. Equally, we want to provide our leadership, support and willpower to serve our community to the best of our ability.

Below are the values of Pittsburgh Young Professionals. Values are guiding devices to increase our ability to attain our purposes. These values are core facets that are truly important to PYP as an organization.

Pittsburgh Young Professionals embraces the following values as the foundation of our identity as a young professionals organization located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. We will build upon these values as we strive to achieve our vision and carry out our mission to our members and our community.

Leadership We strive to provide the utmost leadership to our organization and our City of Pittsburgh by upholding our mission and vision to our community, leading by example, respecting those we meet and conduct business with, providing a professional demeanor that represents the PYP organization, and setting aside difference to create and generate real organizational change.

Community We are committed to community awareness and all that pertains to it. We are responsible not only to sustaining our organization, but supporting the Pittsburgh community. We strive to create communal change wherein the benefits are to all people who live, work, and play in the City of Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

Professional Development We strive to develop resources, seminars and workshops that enhance our members' opportunities to connect employment-related skills and interests to a corresponding career path.

Friendship In 1988, six friends who reunited in Pittsburgh formed a group to contribute to the community; PYP was born. Friendship is the true bond of our organization. Whether we are networking, socializing or working together to create communal change, our organization depends on friendships. We are friends creating positive change.

Diversity We value diversity by providing an environment wherein each human being is respected, honored and supported, and is recognized based on the person's own merit, accomplishment and involvement to the organization and the community.
