Engineering Manager, PE
About the Job
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Proven track record as an Engineering Manager with minimum (5) years management of staff engineers, project

managers, designers, and/or drafters.

Project management experience with at least (10) projects managed of $100,000 or greater value that were

successfully completed on time and within budget.

Effective management of engineering project backlogs including project timelines, cost and time estimating,

monitoring of project progress, and reporting of project progress to senior management.

Engineering design background in manufacturing technology related to the Steelmaking industry, or other similar

manufacturing technology.

Manufacturing background with experience related to foundry, welding, CNC machining, piping systems and

standards, and advanced production techniques.

Research and Development background with experience managing R&D project completion within budget.

Must have experience with ISO 9001 quality standards and systems.



EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering

Professional Engineer Accreditation

AutoCAD, INVENTOR, and/or Solid Edge training.

Ability to use ALGOR and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software.

Project management and scheduling skills training.

Supervisory skills training.

Oral and written communication skills training.

Formal presentation skills (public speaking) training.

TIG, MIG, SMAW, and Flux-Core welding fundamentals training.

Metal machining and Machine Shop measurement system fundamentals training.

Foundry metalmaking and coremaking skills training.

Training in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and ERP software.

Technical drawing and documentation reading and writing skills training.

ISO quality control system training.

Local Candidates


Skills / Requirements

SKILLS REQUIRED:

Effective, proven management track record.

Ability to lead a team and promote teamwork.

Must be able to perform FEA analysis, strength analysis, heat transfer, and compressible and incompressible fluid

flow calculations, as they relate to the company.

Proficiency in various engineering calculations and evaluations.

Problem solving analysis, solution identification, and remedy implementation.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Project or other scheduling software to manage projects.

Proficiency in using Microsoft PowerPoint to present project reports or status updates.

Proficiency in using AutoCAD Mechanical Desktop, INVENTOR, and/or Solid Edge software to review drawings.

Ability to manage large projects in a timely and cost conscious manner.

Ability to travel nationally and internationally.

Basic understanding of TIG, MIG, SMAW, and Flux-Core welding techniques.

Basic understanding of metal machining and Machine Shop measurement systems (example: micrometers).

Basic understanding of metal foundry operations and procedures.

Understanding of ISO quality control system procedures and requirements.

Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project software, and ERP Software.
