Job: Direct Care Staff

Direct Care Staff provide therapeutic services to children, adolescent or teens ages 6 to 18 years of age in either a Residential Treatment Facility or Group Homes who have a psychiatric diagnosis and cannot be successfully maintained in thier homes environment.

For Direct Care staff within the Residential Treatment Facility guidance comes on a daily basis through individualized treatment plans designed to help each child achieve treatment goals. Medical and mental health treatment is given by a teach approach consisting of doctors, nurses, psychologists, therapists, direct care staff and resident case managers.

Direct Care staff within the Group Home setting provide a safe residential option for adjudicated youth between the ages of 10 to 18. Staff work together, fusing treatment services with the daily routine of the child. An individualized service plan is created for each resident addressing his or her specific needs. A direct care staff is assigned to each client for individualized attention. Individual, family and psychoeducational counseling services and groups are offered.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, nursing, education or a field in human services and one year experience in a CASSP system program; or a high school diploma and 12 college level semester hours in humanities or human services and two years experience in a CASSP system program preferred.
Must have audio/visual/verbal activity to provide supervision for the clients and to perform essential job functions.
Must have the physical dexterity in order to assist in physical interventions as necessary.
Must complete and pass agency Crisis /Physical Intervention training.
Must possess verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Must be able to adjust hours to job requirements.
Eligible for Act 33/34 and FBI clearances.
