Young Adult Program Coordinator (Grant Full-time) All applicants must apply online at: www.ccacjobs.com by November 13, 2009. This is a Grant Funded (temporary) Full-Time Position with benefits. Continued employment is contingent on sufficient future funding. This grant may be renewed. Position is funded August 1, 2009 - July 31, 2010 General Summary: Provide students enrolled in Young Adult Empowerment Program (YAEP) with academic and career information. Maintain contact with YAEP students and refer to other offices when appropriate. Job Duties: 1. Consult with faculty, counselors, staff and administration in the development, implementation and evaluation of appropriate services and programs designed to address student needs. 2. Work with students enrolled in YAEP to provide academic support and assistance, including program planning, information giving and assistance completing forms. 3. Keep accurate records and statistical data. 4. Prepare and submit reports, as requested. 5. Assist campuses to provide job placement assistance for students. 6. Coordinate Early Intervention system for YAEP students. 7. Monitor YAEP students from first semester at CCAC through graduation and initiate intervention when needed. 8. Act as a liaison with Career Services, Counseling, Financial Aid, Supportive Services, Advisement and the Learning Center for YAEP students. 9. Maintain record of all student contacts; begin and maintain a YAEP database to assist in developing tracking mechanisms. 10. Provide facilitated study, workshops, support and/or other academic assistance to appropriate YAEP student groups. 11. Market services to YAEP students through classroom presentations, mailings and other means of communications. 12. Travel to campuses, college centers and off campus locations as necessary. 13. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills / Requirements
Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, education or related field. Two years experience with underserved and/or undereducated students or other populations in need who have completed high school or are in need of earning a GED and progressing to postsecondary education/training. Must have strong written and oral communication skills and organization skills.
