The RN performs a variety of duties to improve the quality of care provided to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities(I/DD); Works in conjunction with other staff members to support individuals, service providers, families and other aspects of the I/DD delivery system; Provides support through education, data collection, identification of healthcare concerns, information dissemination and consultation.
The position is based in Somerset and Bedford Counties and moderate travel is required between these counties.
Responsibilities:
Development, implementation and revision of medical trainings to improve customers understanding and ability to promote health and welfare of individuals with I/DD.
Collaborate and assist support teams to improve outcomes related to system issues, people living with challenges and development of policies.
Increase community service and healthcare provider s skills and abilities by education, dissemination of information and consultation to improve the quality of healthcare delivery systems and outcomes.
Maintain data required to assess productivity and provide meaningful reports to stakeholders.
Perform physical health risk assessments to promote and ensure the health and well being of the individuals supported.
EDUCATION:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with an active PA registered nurse license.
EXPERIENCE:
1-3 years of experience in medical surgical or community nursing required, with experience working in the field of I/DD preferred; teaching experience also preferred.
Knowledge of the concepts and principles of adult learning, and ODP regulation preferred.
Knowledge of windows computer operating system and proficiency in Microsoft Office, Internet/Web Navigation.
Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
Prioritization and organizational skills.
Ability to apply clinical knowledge as it applies to specific situations to improve healthcare provided.
Ability to analyze and deal with complex situations and collaborate effectively with local and remote personnel in order to provide fast and effective problem resolution.
