Cryogenic R&D Engineer

Cryogenic R&D Engineer sought by Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of America, Inc. in Allentown, PA. Analyze, dsgn, dvlp & test new cryogenic helium refrigeration products & technology components & improve existing products. Create concepts & dsgns of prototypes & products associated w/ cryogenic helium refrigeration eqpmt. Perform thermodynamic heat transfer analysis & CFD calculations w/ focus on fluid flow & heat transfer; FEA w/ focus on structural analysis; & stress analysis on mechanical components subjected to thermal, dynamic & pressure loads. Perform FMEA/Reliability analysis of cryogenic components & systems; use eng'g dsgn & analysis tools incl CAD & 3-D modeling of cryogenic eqpmt; solve complex engg problems by utilizing computational packages incl SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS; & apply regulatory & code standards such as UL, CE, ASME BPVC & NEC. Dvlp & plan test prgms for qualification of product prototypes & their components; & dvlp mfg processes by dsgng & modifying eqpmt for fabricating, building, assembling, testing & installing components. Reqs Master's deg in Mech Eng'g. Reqs 2 yrs exp as R&D Engineer or rltd eng'g role. Exp must incl 2 yrs exp in cryocooler or cryogenic eqpmt dsgn; FEA w/ focus on structural analysis; CFD w/ focus on fluid flow & heat transfer rltd to cryogenic eqpmt; 3-D modeling of cryogenic eqpmt; & computational packages such as SOLIDWORKS and ANSYS.
