The Daily American has an immediate opening for a sales executive in our Somerset office.
Advertising, sales and/or marketing experience preferred. The Daily American is an established company with a great future offering electronic and print marketing solutions to area businesses. This position is full time with benefits and an excellent compensation plan and the opportunity to grow.
The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for developing and launching niche products to potential advertisers, helping them reach new audiences to grow their business.
Duties include generating revenue for the newspaper by selling both print and online advertising to new and existing customers. Developing marketing plans for various types of businesses and provide excellent customer service.
Essential Functions: * Sell print and online advertising to customers * Meet with customers to determine business objectives, develop sales proposals to help them meet objectives * Present creative options to meet customer needs and up-sell products * Build new client relationships and maintain existing long-term relationships * Identify prospects for all products, cold-call or set up meetings to reach new customers * Follow procedures to ensure ad is placed in newspaper correctly and within required deadlines * Grow sales revenue to meet company goals * Negotiate contracts and ensure customer compliance * Provide exceptional customer service and follow-up * Communicate with advertising manager on an ongoing basis * Perform other job-related duties as assigned * Work closely with advertising coordinator to ensure ads are scheduled, run, and priced correctly
